American Idol Recount? Time to Talk About Last Night...
'Upset' seems mild.
Even shocked winner Kris Allen generously conceded Adam deserved it.
As discussed in this space yesterday so much has been projected onto these two singers. Our culture war seemingly placed on their shoulders. Blue America versus red, country versus coast, clean cut and glam. But these two rose above all that. They appear to genuinely like each other and their efforts on stage served as a reminder that this is supposed to be a singing competition.
So the theorizing as to what happened has kicked into overdrive this morning: Was America not ready for Adam?
In the end it might be a lot simpler than all that. Perhaps it comes down to an army of tech savvy tweens, armed with their blackberry's, willing to text what it took to crown their hero? The bill for all those texts is in the mail.
